About

The Birmingham Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) was first organized in 1920. The Birmingham Jaycees provides young adults, age 21-40, with the tools and support they need to build the bridges to success in the areas of business development, management, leadership and personal training, community service, governmental involvement and more. The Jaycees also provide young people with the opportunity to help make a positive and lasting difference in their city and the region. The thrust of the leadership training within the Jaycee organization is achieved through running projects. The member can take on many roles within the projects – from project chairperson to helper.
The Jaycees have worked to help those less fortunate, providing them with physical comforts that most of us can take for granted. Each year, The Jaycees, along with corporate and private sponsors, provide coats, clothes, Christmas toys, food, and school supplies to deserving children. We also organize an annual Easter Egg Hunt and participate in other annual programs, such as Relay for Life and the Race for the Cure.
