Welcome from the President

Welcome to the Birmingham Jaycees blog! I’m glad you’ve decided to check out the best organization for young professionals in the country. Our chapter is the oldest in the state and we have a long history of community projects from helping extend the runways at the airport to putting the former traffic torch in Vulcan’s hand.

This chapter also has a reputation in the Birmingham area for hard work that gives back. Our longest running project was our annual Haunted House which was a fixture in the area from 1970 to 2004. Funds raised through this project over the years helped provide Christmas for more than 1,000 children. While we no longer have the house, we are constantly looking for new fundraisers that will continue this tradition of giving for years to come.

The best part of our chapter is the diversity of our members. We all have different jobs, personalities and goals, but when we are all working on a project, everyone contributes their own individuality to make it a success. Our chapter benefits from the diversity of its members and through them, the community receives the greatest benefit.

Thank you for taking the time to look through this site. I hope you find an area that interests you and I look forward to seeing you at a future project or event!

In Jaycees,
Sarah Pilgreen
120th President
Birmingham Jaycees
